Every day, families across the world are facing the unthinkable - the diagnosis of a life-changing condition or serious illness in their child.

Life Interrupted is for every parent who has ever sat in a sterile room and had their hearts broken. For every parent who has had the rug pulled from beneath their feet. For the broken and the weary, for the brave and determined, Life Interrupted is a warm hug and a gentle hand offered through the challenge of childhood illness.

A reminder of the power of love, and the strength that comes with connection, Life Interrupted will help you find meaning amidst the chaos, and will remind you that you’re not alone.

More than a book, Life Interrupted is a community.

Meet Zoë

A writer, advocate, and mother of three, Zoë’s life was forever changed when her youngest child was diagnosed with a complex medical condition. In her debut book, Life Interrupted - a Guide to Navigating Your Child’s Diagnosis, Zoë offers a compassionate and practical roadmap for families facing the unimaginable, drawing from her lived experience and years of advocacy work.

A passionate supporter of families navigating the medical system, Zoë has been a driving force behind community fundraising efforts, patient support initiatives and awareness campaigns. Her tireless work has earned her recognition at both the grassroots and national levels.

When she’s not reading or writing, Zoë can usually be found cheering from the sidelines of a football field or in the waiting room of a hospital.

She lives in Brisbane, Australia, with her husband and three children.

Why write Life Interrupted?

Because 1 in 12 children worldwide are born with a rare disease, and more still will develop serious illnesses throughout their childhood.

Because millions of families worldwide are suffering in isolation, attempting to adjust to a new world of medical terminology,

hospital corridors, and fragile hopes.

Because, even though you have never felt more alone or more frightened, you are not alone.

You can do this. You just need to know how.

“Zoë's writing is beautifully clear, emotionally intelligent, and often poetic in it's simplicity. This is a book that validates pain, while gently encouraging transformation - a rare and precious combination”
